Sharper is a general-knowledge trivia game. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and what it does not do.
Your progress in solo play — questions answered, streaks, category accuracy, level — is stored only on your own device (local app storage) and is never sent to our servers. Uninstalling the app removes it.
Starting or joining a "Challenge" sends your chosen display name, your randomly generated player ID, and your daily scores to our server so the shared leaderboard can work. This data is visible to everyone else in that same challenge (anyone with its six-character code), and only to them.
Challenge data is kept for as long as the challenge is active, and routinely cleared from our server roughly 60 days after a challenge's start date.
The challenge/leaderboard service runs on a server we operate directly, not a third-party analytics or advertising platform. As with any web service, our server records standard connection information (such as IP address and request timestamps) for security and abuse-prevention purposes (e.g. rate-limiting), in line with normal web server operation — this is not linked to your in-app display name or used for tracking.
Sharper is a general-audience trivia app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If Sharper's data practices change — for example, if advertising or in-app purchases are added in future — this page will be updated first, and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to brendon@dc3.co.za.
